Ashten Zitek Named Carnall Elementary Teacher of the Year!

Fort Smith Public Schools is proud to announce that fourth grade teacher, Ashten Zitek, has been named the Carnall Elementary Teacher of the Year. A dedicated and passionate educator, Ms. Zitek continuously seeks ways to help her students grow, creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment.

"Ashten Zitek is a positive role model for our students," shared a colleague. "Her lessons are fun and engaging, and she always looks for ways to help her students improve." She effectively uses Kagan structures to increase student engagement and incorporates the Capturing Kids’ Hearts EXCEL model to foster meaningful connections with students.

Ms. Zitek actively involves students in reviewing their own data, setting goals for growth, and celebrating their progress. Her positive, growth-focused mindset encourages students to strive for success and take ownership of their learning.

Beyond her classroom, Ms. Zitek collaborates with colleagues, supports families, and demonstrates exceptional dedication through her strong attendance and commitment to professional growth.
